Chronic pain affects more than just the body—it can influence your emotions, relationships, work, daily functioning, and ability to enjoy the activities that matter most. When pain persists, it’s common to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or discouraged.

Meridian Behavioral Medicine provides specialized therapy for chronic pain, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Chronic Pain.

Meridian Behavioral Medicine supports individuals navigating chronic illness and medical conditions using approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Treatment can help you cope with uncertainty, manage health-related stress, adjust to changes in functioning or new medical routines, and find meaningful ways to stay connected to your values, relationships, and sense of purpose while navigating the realities of chronic illness.

Common focus areas include:

  • Diabetes, cardiovascular, or other chronic medical conditions

  • Cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship

  • Organ transplant preparation and adjustment

Meridian Behavioral Medicine helps individuals strengthen healthy behaviors and make meaningful, sustainable lifestyle changes. Using approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), treatment can help you clarify what matters most, strengthen motivation, overcome barriers to change, and take practical steps toward your health and wellness goals.

No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates

The No Surprises Act (federal law enacted on January 1, 2022) mandates that if you plan to pay for health care services yourself or you do not have health insurance, providers must give you a Good Faith Estimate, an estimate of expected charges for the service(s) from your provider.

Your health care provider must give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing for scheduled services within designated timeframes. You can also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
